Gashapon is a type of vending machine-dispensed capsule toys popular in Japan. The name is a Japanese onomatopoeia composed of 2 sounds: "gasha" or "gacha" for the sound of a crank rotating and "pon" for the sound of the capsule dropping into the receptacle.
